Travel Review of Chateau de Lalande.

Set in a beautiful tranquil garden Château de Lalande is an elegant 18th to 19th century small Chateaux fully refurbished and charm personified.

The pool hidden in an enclosed garden has adequate loungers and was sparkling clean. It amused us to see a little robot grass cutter roaming around the lawns keeping them pristine. The Chateau De Lalande is 7.5 miles from Périgueux. It offers free Wi-Fi and a large, peaceful terrace. Guest rooms at the Chateau De Lalande are air-conditioned. They include en- suite facilities, a flat-screen TV, telephone and safe.  We were upgraded free of charge as we had requested a bath. A much appreciated gesture. It doesn’t have a lift, so if one or two flights of stairs are a problem make sure you contact the hotel. There is ample  parking at the Chateaux

The restaurant serves gourmet cuisine. This can be enjoyed on the covered terrace in nice weather. Additional facilities include a library, a comfortable lounge and bike hire. The menu did not change so if staying two or more nights check the menu. The meal was delicious and an artwork on a plate. Costing over 40 euros plus wine a head it was comparative to other hotels of the same standard. Breakfast was 17 euros and was a good spread but a little more than we usually paid. The staff were excellent, helpful and spoke excellent English. We were made to feel very welcome.

There were so many places of interest around but if you didn’t want to travel The Chateaux would be a lovely place to spend a day in the sun. Would we visit again if in the area?  YES.
