Customers with pre existing medical conditions can have them underwritten via the online medical screening and many sports and activities are included as standard. Choose from four levels of cover Standard, Standard plus, Premier and the Premier Plus policy, which we have given a five star rating to.

For the purpose of this insurance, a child is considered to be a person who is 17 years of age or under. Included in this category are step children and foster children. All children are covered free of charge.
Both the single trip and annual trip policies have an age limit of 70 years of age and under at the date of purchasing insurance.

If you choose to add wintersports the total number of days covered within a twelve month period is the same as above.
The wintersports section (is an optional addon and requires payment of an additional premium) covers the following activities;
Bigfoot skiing, blade skating, cat skiing (with guide), cross country skiing, curling, glacier walking (up to 1500 metres), husky dog sledding, ice go carting, ice skating, kick sledging, langlauf, mono skiing, mountain walking up to 1500m, off piste skiing or snowboarding (except in areas considered to be unsafe by local resort management), passenger sledge, ski blading, ski boarding, ski dooing, skiing, skiing nordic, sledging, sleigh riding (reindeer, horses or dogs), snowboarding, snow cat driving, snow mobile/ski doos, snow mobiling, snow parascending, snow shoe walking, speed skating, telemarking, tobogganing.

To give you an idea of costs a 7 day trip to Europe including wintersports would cost:
Standard £13.01 Standard Plus £16.36 Premier £19.61 Premier Plus £26.02. This is approximately double the premium of a policy without wintersports cover.
A family is classed as up to two adults and whilst the wording states the policy will cover any number of children, there is only space to list up to eight children during the quotation process.
As well as a family policy, one can be taken out by up to ten individuals or couples. There is no individual group discount available on this policy.
Note children are only insured when travelling with one or both of the insured adults, but under Annual Multi Trip cover, either adult and the children (accompanied by a responsible adult) are also insured to travel on their own.
If you are travelling to a European Country, the policy states that you should take a European Health Insurance card with you.
If you are travelling to Australia or New Zealand, you should enrol in Medicare or the equivalent scheme of these countries.
The policy states if you have an EHIC card, you must use it to mitigate any claims under the policy.
The policy provides a comprehensive list of over 120 leisure and sporting activities which are covered automatically, such as water skiing and wake boarding, matharons (maximum of two), sea fishing and rafting (grade 1 rivers only). These are just a few examples, you should check the policy document for the complete list.
Whilst this list is wide-ranging, if you wish to take part in a pursuit that isn't mentioned, you should contact them directly to see if it can be added and what additional premium or terms are required if any.

However they go on to say
"We do not expect you to avoid alcohol during your trip, but we will not cover any claim arising from excessive alcohol consumption, by which we mean where you have drunk so much alcohol that you have notably impaired your faculties and/or judgement and you need to make a claim."
The standard policy does not include either cover, but the Standard Plus, Premier and Premier Plus policies, automatically include scheduled airline failure cover for up to £1500.
The Standard policy will not cover any pre existing medical condtions. The Standard Plus, Premier and Premier Plus policy, will cover pre existing medical conditions, provided they are declared via the medical screening process, at the same time you obtain a quotation.

The policy excludes any costs relating to pregnancy or childbirth, if you are more than 26 weeks pregnant at the start of or during your trip.
However you can claim for cancellation of a holiday or trip, If you become pregnant after the date you purchased this insurance cover (or booked your trip whichever is later) and you will be more than 26 weeks pregnant at the start of or during your trip. Or, if you become pregnant after the date you purchased this insurance cover and your doctor advises that you are not fit to travel due to complications in your pregnancy.
The policy specifically excludes manual labour which is defined as work involving physical labour. However the policy will provide cover for Animal Sanctuary/Refuge Work, office and clerical work, bar and restuarant work, music performance and singing, or fruit picking, providing it does not involve machinery.
Claims where you are unable to provide receipts or other reasonable proof of ownership wherever possible for the items being claimed are excluded.
There is also a deduction made for wear and tear under the policy.
Any claim arising from an act of terrorism is excluded, but this does not apply to Medical Expenses either outside or inside the United Kingdom, Hospital Benefit or Personal Accident.
The policy also excludes claims in respect of a cyber event. A cyber event is described as an unauthorised or malicious act or series of related unauthorised or malicious acts or the threat or hoax thereof involving access to, processing of, use of or operation of any information technology system or any electronic data by any person or group(s) of persons.
The Premier and Premier Plus policies both offer Natural Catastrophe cover as standard. Cover includes Cancellation, Stranded at Departure, additional costs to reach your destination, stranded on you return journey and or additional expenses to get home, car parking and kennel or cattery fees, as a result of volcanic eruption, flood, tsunami, earthquake, landslide, hurrican, tornado or wildfire.
To be eligible for an Allsafe policy, you must have your main home in the UK or Isle of Man and be registered with a local doctor.
