With the current situation in Qatar, are there any problems with travel this country?

    Thanks for your question

Qatar is currently a high risk country to visit. The foreign office states that borders have been closed due to diplomatic ties being cut with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt. This will disrupt sea, air and land travel.

There is also an increased risk in terrorist attacks. These measures will lead to delays and distruption, although direct flights to and from the UK aren’t affected.

Whilst travel hasn’t been advised against, some Insurance policies will refuse to pay out if you go to a country knowing there is an increased risk of terrorism. We recommend if you plan to visit Qatar to check and obtain written confirmation from your Insurer, you are still covered to travel. You can check the Foreign Office updates for Qatar here
