The backpacker policy states the age limit is 49, in fact the Blue Insurance website limits the age to 45

3. What are the policy Trip Duration limits?

A single trip policy can be taken out for up to 365 days, provided you are under the age of 65 years. There is a restriction of 35 days for travellers aged 66 - 69, 21 days for those aged 70 - 75 (premier plus cover only) and 14 days for those aged 76 - 85 (premier plus cover only).

This is reduced to 31 days for those aged between 66 and 69 and 15 days between the ages of 70 and 75 (premier plus cover only).

A Backpacker policy can be taken out for up to 12 months.

4. What are the options for Winter Sports cover?

Wintersports can be included on both single and annual trip policies provided the age of those travelling is no more than 65 years old.  Under the annual travel policy wintersports cover is limited to a maximum of 17 days under the premier policy and 24 days under the premier plus policy.

Wintersports is also available under the backpacker policy.

Wintersports cover is defined as one or more of the following pursuits; Guided cross country skiing (Nordic skiing), glacier skiing, mono skiing, off piste skiing or snowboarding except in areas designated as unsafe by local resort management unless accompanied  by  a  locally  qualified  guide,  recreational  racing,  skiing,  snowboarding, snowmobiling, snow sledging and tobogganing
