You can choose from three levels of cover, Bronze, Silver or their four star rated Gold policy, which provides up to £15 Million of Medical Emergency cover and Cancellation of up to £5,000. Each policy gives you the option to include, winter sports, Cruise or Golf cover.

The age classification of a child under the Axa travel policy is anyone under the age of 18. If you are aged under 18 you are only insured when accompanied by a responsible adult.
The Axa Single trip policy has an age limit of 79, restricted to 74 if you are travelling to the USA, Canada or the Caribbean.
The Axa annual trip policy has an age limit of 74.
You can take out a single trip policy for up to 120 days.
The annual travel policy allows for unlimited trips provided each trip lasts no longer than 30 days om respect of bronze cover, 35 days for silver cover and 45 days gold cover.
Wintersports can be added to either policy, but is restricted to a maximum of 17 days in respect of the annual travel policy.
The policy provides a comprehensive list of 21 winter activities which are covered under the policy. They include Dry slope skiing, Ice hockey, Ice skating, Glacier walking, Kick sledging, Ski–blading, Ski–dooing, Skiing, Skiing - cross country, Skiing - mono, Skiing - Nordic, Skiing - off piste within resort boundaries, Sledging, Sledging pulled by horse, reindeer or dogs as a passenger, Snow biking, Snow boarding, Snow bobbing, Snow carting (no liability cover) and Snow mobiling (no liability cover), Snow shoe walking andTobogganing.
There is no definition of a family or couple. In fact there does not appear to be any special family or children discounts on the policy. Up to ten persons may be covered under one policy.
There are however substantial group discounts when up to ten persons travel under the same policy
If you are travelling to a European destination, Axa strongly advise you to take out a European Health Insurance Card. If you need to claim and use the card to reduce costs by more than the excess, the excess will not be deducted.
If you require treatment when visiting Australia, you should enrol at the nearest medicare centre as soon as possible after your first treatment.
The Axa policy provides a list of 70 activities and leisure pursuits, that you can participate in and that are automatically covered. For example Horse riding (2 days max), surfing (2 days maximum), scuba diving down to 18 metres (maximum 2 dives). Check the policy for a full list.
There are an additional 40 activities which can be included at the time of quotation subject to payment of an additional premium, for example zip wiring, or White water rafting up to grade 5.
The policy excludes any claim arising from your consumption of alcohol or you abusing alcohol.
The policy covers disruption of your trip due to the insolvency of the accommodation or transport provider. It covers the reasonable additional costs of accommodation and public transport travel expenses, so that you may continue your trip.
Axa Travel Medical Insurance. The policy excludes any medical conditions whether you have had treatment or received a diagnosis.
The good news is that Axa have comprehensive medical screening available on their website at the point of sale and will be able to quote online for most medical conditions without the need to phone them up.

Cancellation of your policy as a result of pregnancy is covered, but only if it is accompanied by a complication, a list of which can be found in the policy wording.
The same is true of emergency medical expenses. Pregnancy would only be covered if accompanied by complications of pregnancy, in other words an unforeseen event.
Manual work is specifically excluded under the policy. There is no definition of manual work, but non manual work is covered, described as professional administrative or clerical duties only.
In the event of a claim, you are required to produce, original receipts, proof of ownership, or valuations for items lost, stolen or damaged.
There is no additional clarification of the term "proof of ownership", but photographing your luggage before its packed would certainly help.
Terrorism and war are listed under the general exclusions, however note this does not apply to medical expenses, personal accident or travel disruption.
The policies cover the reasonable cost of additional accommodation and travel expenses, payable as a result of catastrophe.
You must be permanently registered in the United Kingdom and registered with a UK Doctor.
