Children are described as any child living at the same address as the insured adults (including foster children) aged 17 and under and in full time education.
Single Trip: A maximum of 180 days
Annual Trip: An unlimited number of trips with each trip lasting no longer than 31 consecutive days.
Backpacker Travel: A maximum of 365 days
Wintersports cover can be included as an optional extra on the single trip, annual trip and backpacker policy. The following activities are covered under the winterports section.
The bronze policy provides minimal ski cover. The silver, Gold and Backpacker policy all cover the following:
Ski Pack up to £300, own ski equipment up to £400 (single item £300) Hire of ski equipment £200, Piste closure £20 per day up to a maximum of £200. Avalanche closure £25 per day up to a maximum of £250
To give you an idea of costs, the premium based on a 35 year old travelling to Europe for seven days including wintersports is Bronze £24.88 Silver £28.44 and Gold £32.70

The policies are open to individual travellers, couples who have lived together for at least six months, Families, two adults and up to 12 children.
Groups of up to 12 individuals, although there doesn't appear to be any volume discount available.
The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) is recommended by Allianz but not compulsory. In Australia you have the option to enrol in medicare which will entitle you to subsidised hospital treatments and medicines. If you make use of these arrangements and they reduce your medical expenses, you will not have to pay any excess.
The following activities are automatically covered under the allianz travel policy:
banana boating, cricket, cycling, deep sea fishing, fell walking, glacier walking, golf, hiking, horse riding (not competitions, show jumping, hunting, eventing, polo or rodeo), jet skiing, marathon running, mountain biking, netball, orienteering, parascending over water, ringos, running, safari trekking in a vehicle (must be an organised tour), scuba diving to a depth of 30 metres (if you hold a certificate of proficiency or you are diving with a qualified instructor), snorkelling, surfing, swimming, trekking, wakeboarding, walking, water skiing, windsurfing and zorbing.
Anything that is not on the above list is automatically excluded. If you wish to include a pursuit not listed, then you should contact Allianz on 0208603 9653, to see if they can provide cover and how much it will cost.
The policy excludes any claim relating to the effect of your alcohol and/or you being under the influence of alcohol, or doing anything as a result of using alcohol.
The policy does not provide any cover in respect of Scheduled Airline or End Supplier Failure.
All Allianz travel policies exclude pre existing medical conditions, where in the last twelve months you;
If the answer is yes to one or more of the above questions, you are able to declare these conditions and get a quote online, using the online medical screening facility, but only in respect of Single Trip Travel policies.
There is no option to declare medical conditions under the annual travel policy.
The policy does not provide any information regarding pregnancy or childbirth. If you are taking out an Allianz policy and intend to travel whilst pregnant, we strongly recommend contacting the Insurer to let them know of your specific circumstances. Make sure you get any confirmation in writing.
The policy excludes any cover for manual work. There is no definition of "manual work" in the policy, so if you intend to work whilst abroad, we strongly recommend contacting Allianz to make sure you are covered.
Yes you must provide original receipts, vouchers or other suitable evidence of purchase / ownership / value for lost, stolen or damaged personal possessions
Confirmation, such as foreign exchange receipts and withdrawal slips, from your bank or bureau de change for issuing foreign currency, or suitable evidence for Sterling.
Keep any damaged items as Allianz may need to inspect them. Obtain an estimate for repair for all damaged items. Please note an amount for wear, tear and loss of value will be deducted.
The policy excludes cover in respect of
War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war is declared or not) civil war, civil commotion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military force, coup d’etat, terrorism
or weapons of mass destruction.
The failure or fear of failure or inability of any equipment or any computer program, whether or not you own it, to recognise or to correctly interpret or process any date as the true or correct date, or to continue to function correctly beyond that date
(this does not apply to claims made under Emergency medical and associated expenses - Section 2 and Personal accident - Section 7)
The policy does not provide any cover in respect of natural disaster or catastrophe.
To be eligible for an Allianz policy, you must have your main home and be registered with a doctor in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man. You must not have spent more than six months abroad during the year before the policy was issued.
