Although we have now officially left the European Union and agreed on a new UK Global Health Insurance card for travel to Europe, this is definitely not a replacement for travel insurance. It has never been more important, to choose the right policy because, as the current Coronavirus Pandemic has highlighted, the wrong choice can have disastrous financial and health consequences, if you have to claim whilst abroad.
Once you have read this review of Age Co Travel Insurance and compared polices using our unique search facility, you will have all the information you need to make an informed choice.
Review of Ago Co (Formerly Age UK) Travel Insurance updated 17th March 2019 by Denise Field.
Age Co (formerly Age UK) states. 'Age Co is here to help more people love later life'. They are involved in most things that assist older people in the UK and one of those things is travel insurance.
The travel insurance is underwritten and administered by Ageas Insurance Limited, who are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. In April 2013, Ageas acquired Groupama Insurance Company Limited.
The Age Co policy is aimed at the over 50 market and has no age limit. As you get older medical conditions, become more common and Age Co cater for consumers with medical issues. Pre existing conditions can be underwritten online at the point of sale, making the process quick and easy to use. Of course they are also on hand to discuss any issues over the phone.
The Age Go policy has good levels of cover and we have awarded it a four star rating. Unlike many Insurers, Age Go do not charge for administration changes to the policy. Where applicable children are insured free of charge and cover for financial failure of the travel or accommodation provider is automatically included.

The Age Co travel insurance policy is 64 pages long, but is attractively laid out with some nice images and headings to make what can be a tedious document, more enjoyable. The table of benefits is clear and the index assists in navigating around.
The terminology appears to be customer friendly and I was able to understand the terms and conditions.
This is a good policy, we were only able to award it four stars, because of the alcohol wording, and two of the secondary benefits were lower than market average.
The quotation process is a bit laborious, but customers are clearly happy with the service overall and the premiums appear competitive, especially for those over the age of 50 and with medical conditions, which this is aimed at.
It's a shame there is no cover for mobile phones, because its something that even the older generation use.
