Who are AA and who underwrites their policies?

The Automobile Association or The AA as it is commonly known, was founded in 1905. Over the years it has grown from the AA patrolman looking after car breakdowns to insurance, loans, driving lessons, motoring advice and rating of Holidays, Caravans, Camping and Restuarants.

Rest assured any policy has the backing of a large financially stable organisation. Travel Insurance is underwritten by CIGNA Europe Insurance Company S.A Chancery House, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, Surrey SM1 1JB. Registered in Belgium with limited liability (Brussels trade register no.0474624562), Avenue de Cortenbergh 52, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.

Subject to the prudential supervision of the National Bank of Belgium, Boulevard de Berlaimont 14, 1000 Brussels (Belgium) and to the supervision of the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA.

The cover offered under the AA banner, is very similar to that offered by them through the trading name of 1Stop Travel Insurance.
