50 Plus Insurance is the trading name of Bluefin Insurance Services ltd, who are based in Old Broad Street London. Bluefin are one of the UK's leading Insurance Brokers with over 1400 staff in 40 offices across the country. They are of course authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Travel policies are underwritten by DTW1991 at Lloyds of London.

Children are dependents under the age of 18 (or 24 and in full time education) who reside together.
At time of purchase:-
Maximum age of 85, for Single Trips.
Maximum age of 75, for Annual Multi Trip policies
Single Trip: Trip Duration up to 365 days for insured persons aged up to 70, reduced to a maximum of 31 days for those aged between 71 - 85.
Annual Trip: Trip Duration is 45 days per trip, up to the age of 70, reduced to 31 days for insured persons between the ages of 71- 75. The length of any one trip can be increased to 60 days, provided you are aged 70 or under.
Winter Sports can be added with the payment of an additional premium on your Single Trip Policy, up to the age of 85. Winter Sports can be included on your Annual Policy, provided you are aged 75 or under.
The policy covers fourteen different activities, including off-piste skiing and snowboarding (only in areas considered to be safe by the resort)
The policy recommends reading the ten international ski fereration rules for the conduct of skiers.
There is no limit to the number of individuals you can insure under one policy.
Family Travel means Two adults (or single parent family) residing at the same address for at least six months and all their dependent children (under the age of 18, or under the age of 24 and in full time education) who all reside together.
EHIC not Mandatory, but strongly advised. If travelling to Australia you must enrol in Medicare on arrival.
The policy provides a comprehensive list of acceptable holiday activities covered as standard, including (but not limited to) bungee jumping, jet skiing, paragliding, safaris and scuba diving up to 30 metres (as long as PADI qualified).
If you have opted for wintersports, there is also a list of acceptable wintersport activities. Personal Liability cover is excluded for jet skiing, sailing, yachting, skidooing, snowmobiling or use of any form of motorised vehicle.
If you intend to take part in an activity not listed, we recommend that you contact the Insurer to obtain permission in writing and pay any additional premium to ensure that you are covered.
Policy states cover is excluded for “being under the influence of intoxicating liquor”
The policy provides automatic cover for financial failure of the end supplier.
Pre-existing conditions are automatically excluded apart from you only having one of the following conditions: Certain Asthma, Type 2 Non-Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and hypercholesterolemia conditions (read the policy for full terms and conditions. For any other condition, you need to phone their medical screening line on 01689 892246 and make sure cover has been agreed in writing.
You must ensure that you have all the appropriate vaccinations that are required for the country/countries that you intend to visit.
The Insurance Provider states cover is excluded for pregnancy or childbirth in respect of any trip starting and/or finishing within eight weeks of the expected date of birth.
Manual Labour is excluded for this policy.
If your plan is to carry out specific work, you should contact the insurance provider to see if they are able to include it.
Any claim is settled after taking into account a deduction for wear and tear and depreciation
Original receipts for items delayed, lost, stolen or damaged are required to substantiate your claim.
It would be sensible to keep receipts of any new clothes/property purchased for your holiday. If in doubt as to whether you have cover for a specific item, please contact the Insurance Provider for clarification prior to taking out insurance.
Cover is excluded for any claim arising as a result of “War, invasion, foreign enemies, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, or any act, condition or warlike operation incident to war. War like action by a regular or irregular miliitary force or civilian agents, or any action taken by any government, sovereign or other authority to hinder or defend against an actual or expected attack, insurrection, rebellion, revolution, attempt to usurp power or popular uprising or any action taken by government or martial authority in hindering or defending against any of these.
The policy covers reasonable additional accommodation expenses (up to the amount stated in the schedule) following an emergency or a government declaration of an emergency.
This policy is only available to you if you and all others to be insured are resident in the United Kingdom or Channel Islands and are registered with a doctor.
The period of insurance is automatically extended for up to 30 days in the event that completion of your journey is delayed due to circumstances beyond the Insured Person's control, PROVIDED THAT the insured person is not being detained by the police or any other lawful authority.
