Citybond were formed in 1983 and are based in Beckenham. All policies are underwritten by Union Reiseversicherung AG. URV are based in Munich Germany. They are authorised in Germany by BAFIN and subject to limited authorisation in the UK by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).

Single trip policies have no upper age limit and a high limit of 85 years of age on annual travel policies. Winter sports can be included up to the age of 70.
