Review of Hotel Amistad Cordoba in Spain

When it is possible to travel freely again. Cordoba Spain is a wonderful town to visit , full of history and colour , take a walk by the river and cross the bridge to the interesting museum.  The small shops full of enticing  goods and food. Stop at one of the many bars as you wander round the narrow streets. The tapas are delicious , try a Menu Del Dia for a well priced meal mid day as you watch the world go by.

Review of Hotel Amistad Córdoba

NH Collection Amistad Cordoba is a converted 18th-century mansion next to the old city walls, in the Jewish quarter of Córdoba and next to an interesting museum of Bull fighting and Roman remains. If you are driving access is via a very thin road that is not one way and full of tourists. It’s a little scary but it’s possible to drive a large 4×4 down it with care. The Hotel has parking underground and thankfully NH Hotel staff park your car.

The reception staff speak several languages and are very helpful. There can be a wait at busy times to check in or out, but there is a nice terrace outside for a coffee while you wait.

The rooms are air-conditioned very necessary in the Cordoba summer. NH Collection Amistad Cordoba rooms are spotless, have Nespresso machines, kettle, minibar, a flat-screen TV, a pillow menu and a specially designed mattress which is heaven after arriving late and a long drive . The bathrooms are modern and include a hairdryer. Food is good but a little expensive. There are many excellent tapas bars and restaurants nearby offering Menu del Dia for around 11 euros.

The NH Collection Amistad Cordoba is in an attractive building  and includes original details ceramic floors and central courtyard. There is also modern art in public areas.

NH Collection Amistad Cordoba has a fitness centre, and there is a sun terrace with a seasonal outdoor pool. This is something quite usual in Spain, but for those from the colder parts of the world it seems strange if you arrive on a warm April spring day and the pool is closed .

The location is great, just a few minutes walk from La Mezquita and La Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. Having been to Cordoba several times it is a travel destination I will never be tired of.

Parking can be an issue if driving to Cordoba and your Hotel doesn’t have parking. Park outside the walls and walk in, it doesn’t take long. Just don’t leave any valuables in your car. Take a walk over the river to the museum, it is worth it. Join their loyalty scheme if you use their hotels more than once. It’s easy to join and a good saving, just ask at reception or contact via their website.
