Tesco’s probably the UK’s best known Grocers, needs no real introduction. This company has seen massive expansion over the years into all sorts of areas, such as Banking, Finance and Insurance. Tesco bank offers a range of insurance policies, one of which is travel insurance. Tesco’s Travel Insurance is provided by Ageas Insurance Ltd.

  • Anyone, individuals, couples or families, can take out a single trip policy, provided they are under the age of 74. The maximum duration of a trip is only 90 days.

  • Also open to anyone as mentioned above, provided they are under the age of 74. The policy allows for unlimited trips, but each trip is restricted to 31, 45 or 60 days, depending on the premium you have paid. Wintersports can be added as an optional extra, but only for up to 17 days and provided you are under 65.

Important Information on Tesco Travel Insurance's Policy Wording

You must have been a UK resident for at least six months and registered with a GP in the UK to qualify for a policy.

The policy specifically excludes cover, if you cause a claim becuase you are under the influence of alcohol.

There is a 20% discount if you are a club card member and purchase online.

The standard medical exclusions apply, however you are now able to obtain cover for conditions, by using the online medical screening as part of the quotation process.

The Everyday policy has been awarded Two Stars, because it does not include personal accident cover, loss of passport, missed departure, catastrophe cover, mugging, pet care, hijack or legal expenses.

There is also no option to include wintersports under the everyday policy.

The policy provides a comprehesnvie list of additional activities that are covered without having to pay an additional premium. They may provide cover for sports that are not included on the list, but you would need to contact them.
