You must be the owner and keep of the pet and be at least 18 years old.
Your pet must be at least eight weeks old and live with you at your home address in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
You must never have had an insurance policy declared void or cancelled by an insurer.
More Th>n offer three policies Basic, Classic and the 5 star rated Premier policy
The Basic policy covers vet fees up to either £1,500 or £3,000 and is limited to 12 months.
The Classic policy covers vet fees up to a maximum of either £4,000 or £8,000 per condition.
The Premier policy covers vet fees up to a maximum of either £4,000 (£1,000 per condition) or £12,000 per year (£4,000 per condition). The amount is reinstated each year upon renewal.

All three policies cover complementary treatments described as acupuncture, homeopathy,
chiropractic manipulation, hydrotherapy, osteopathy and physiotherapy.
In addition the Premier policy covers Behavioural problems up to £1,000.
The Basic and Classic policy cover the cost of prescription food, but only to treat urinary crystals or stones and renal and thyroid conditions.
The Premier policy covers all treatment food up to £500 except to treat obseity or oral hygiene diets.
The Basic and Classic policy covers dental treatment of teeth and gums if they have been damaged in an accident.
The Premier policy covers damage to or removal of teeth as the result of an accident or illness and also covers tooth decay and gum disease, provided your pet has a regular 12 month dental check up.
Full cover for MRI/CT scans and Cruciate Ligament claims up to the vet fees limit.
The Basic and Classic policies cover Euthanasia, Cremation or Burial up to £150 as a paid optional extra.
In respect of the Premier policy this is automatically covered up to £200.
You are able to cover more than one pet under the same policy. More Th>n offer a 10% multi-pet discount for each additional pet insured under the same policy.
More Th>n policies do not cover your pet's pre-existing medical conditions. Existing conditions are defined as;
Signs or symptoms, whether diagnosed or un-diagnosed injuries or illnesses.
Existing illnesses, injuries, physical abnormalities and any that may lead to other health issues or injuries and/or are medically linked to other illnesses or injuries.
The More Th>n policy excludes any claims in respect of Breeding, Pregnancy, giving birth, rearing puppies or kittens.
All three policies cover you when taking your pet abroad. In addition to the extension of vet fees cover abroad, the policies also covers, Emergency expenses, Holiday Cancellation, Quarantine costs, assistance with replacing a lost health certificate or passport and repeat tapeworm treatments.
You must comply with the PETS travel scheme and are covered for a maximum of 3 trips, provided any trip last no longer than 60 days.
There is no cover under More Th>n pet insurance for accidents or injuries that occur within the first 24 hours of a new policy and illnesses including problems with cruciate ligaments within the first 14 days.
The standard policy excess is £100 per insured incident except dog liability claims where the excess is £250 and if your pet requires referral to another vet and that vet is not in the More Th>n network, the excess increase to £200 in respect of any claim.
When your pet turns 9, in addition to the standard excess, you will be required to contribute an additional 20% of the cost of any claim.
For example if you need to claim £1,000, you will be required to pay £100 +20% of the balance totalling £280.
The website is well put together as you would expect from a company like More Th>n. Plenty of information is provided allowing you to compare covers and sums insured.
There is no live chat, but their customer help section answers a lot of questions. At the present time, due to the current pandemic, More Th>n have decided to close their telephone help and service lines. Apart from claims the only way you can contact them is by email with a minimum turnaround of 5 days.
The quotation system is easy to use and provides good information, including the policy wording and Insurance Product documents.
At 28 pages long, the policy is nicely laid out. There is a comprehensive summary of cover and each in respect of vets fees each policy is dealt with separately. Colour coding is used to differentiate between what is and isn't covered.
In tests, the policy wording scored 59.9 out of 100, found to be standard/average, with a reading age of between 15 - 17 required to be able to understand the text.
